| REFEREE INFORMATION |
|
Starting in Spring 2008, OPRF Strikers moved the position of referee assignor in-house. All referees and assistant referees henceforth are required to carry or maintain a current United States Soccer Federation referee certification (ranging between 9 and 18 hours of classroom training). In addition, we are encouraging more teenagers to attain referee certification in order to become center referees as well as assistant referees.
Towards that goal, Carlton Fisher, a State-level referee and Oak Park resident, is working with our current Referee Assignor, Robin Cozette to mentor younger referees each season. Referees are assigned via a web-based scheduling program which reduces the need for last-second phone calls, and gives the referee a log of all games handled during the season. Current referees for Strikers can access this program at www.refcenter.com to input their contact information and update their availability.
If you are interested in joining the Striker referee pool, regardless of soccer or referee experience, please contact Robin at
