Oct. 2006 -- University of Iowa junior defender Claire Goldenberg was named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week, the first time a Hawkeye player received this national honor. 

Claire, who is from River Forest, stood out on the Strikers for many years and earned all-state honors for the OPRF High School Huskies. She won the BuzzElite award for scoring the winning goal for Iowa in double-overtime against No. 21 Indiana and anchoring the Hawkeye defense from the central defender position in two shutouts against top 25 teams. Goldenberg also made a clutch defensive stop late in the second half against Purdue to preserve Iowa's second straight shutout and help the Hawkeyes to their first unbeaten Big Ten weekend since 2002.
